Top End Purse 2009

Marcus Curr riding his chestnut stallion Dartagnan was the proud winner of this year’s Top End Purse in a close and exciting finish that saw the early favourites miss out.

Mitavite was once again a major sponsor of the 2009 Top End Purse which has been running for 17 years. The series is held over 5 events in the Queensland far north, Hughenden, Winton, Julia Creek, Saxby, Cloncurry and  the final held in Richmond.    

It was a close competition with Marcus Curr winning by just one point from Jason Simms on Soda Oneill, with a score of 90 in the final round, finishing on 435 points for the series. Early favourites, husband and wife team Ben and Jaye Hall finished in 3rd and 4th respectively.
