Improving Performance
Feeding micronized grains and oils offers significant advantages
for performance. Oils are highly digestible in the small
intestine, reduce body heat load and preserve blood glucose
levels, delaying onset of fatigue and allowing horses to
maintain top speed for longer. One litre of oils has as much
energy as three kilograms of oats or barley which when unprocessed,
contributes to retention of water and electrolytes in the
gut. Feeding oils and micronized grains, reduces the amount
of ‘dead weight’ carried in the gut.
Micronizing barley increases its digestibility to over 90%
(from around 21%) reducing the amount needed to be fed compared
to unprocessed grains. This not only reduces the ‘weight
handicap’ but also reduces the amount of heat, acid
and gas which rob energy from exercise.
Sustaina releases the energy from oils and grains, necessary
for hard training and elite performance, while simultaneously
addressing fatigue and reducing an unnecessary weight burden.
The addition of natural species-compatible enzymes to Sustaina’s
formulation improves digestive processes and feed efficiency.
