THANKS MITAVITE
I'd like
to offer my sincere thanks to you and Mitavite for recently
providing me with the enormous tub of SuperAmino 66.
I finished it approximately a week ago, and thought I'd
let you know the results.
As I'd told you, my little thoroughbred showjumper 'Skedaddle' (aka 'Skippy'),
despite receiving about 9kg of hard feed per day (5kg of Breeda plus hay and
chaff; he is also out on pasture) has never gained the condition I'd expect.
I'm not keen to feed him of the 'working horse'-type feeds with the higher
energy levels, as he is quite a 'hot', spooky little guy - part of the reason,
I suspect, for his lack of condition. Of the several feeds I've tried, Breeda
seems the best compromise for condition versus trainability. He finds it very
palatable, but I just don't seem to be able to feed him enough of it! In addition
to costing me a fortune...
I started feeding SuperAmino 66 on Saturday 17 December, at the rate of around
400g per day. This also happened to coincide with a two week break for the
'silly season', with Skip hard-fed twice a day, but pretty much left to his
own devices during this time. I checked him one week after commencement, on
24 December, just before going on holidays myself. On taking off his sheet,
I realised I was going to have to cut back on his feed over the period; he'd
put on a noticeable amount of condition in that short time!
The result at the end of the three week period was probably
slightly less remarkable than it might have been, as
I panicked at the end of the first week and cut back
his hard feeds to a total of about 6kg (3.5kg Breeda
plus hay/chaff), concerned he was going to become obese
over the break. If I'd kept him in constant work, plus
maintained his hard feeds at the level he had been
receiving, I think there would have been a much more
noticeable change in not only his weight, but also
in his muscle tone.
Despite
this, at the end of the trial, I believe there was a
definite improvement in his condition - and his colour
is brilliant!
Below is a photo I took down at Metro on 8 January. Please excuse the quality
- it looked much better on the camera screen, but really doesn't show how lovely
he looks.
Again,
thank you so much for the opportunity. I will keep the
Mitavite feed up to him and hope he maintains the condition!
Sincere
regards
Jodie Roberts
and Skedaddle.
