KATE TAYLOR-WHEAT
Nationals:
This was Oscar B 2nd CDI at Grand prix level, so I was thrilled with how he performed. First up was the Intermediate II where Oscar took the atmosphere on board rather than going into his shell. At times it was a little out of control but a great step forward and I was really happy with the feeling during the test. The Grand Prix was the best test we have done at that level he felt fantastic and even though a few little mistakes in the piaffe tour and changes we still managed to score 68% from the Korean judge. Which is really exciting once we get the rough edges ironed out. The Freestyle on the Sat night was our first Grand Prix freestyle and Oscars first test in front of such a crowd. He was fantastic even though he got a little overwhelmed at times he never gave up!! And some of his work was amazing!! Just too many mistakes to get a big score but I was thrilled with him and had so much fun.
World Star was competing in the Medium classes he has only has 3 medium starts so is still a baby at this level so I was really happy with how he performed every outing he gets stronger. A little inattentive at times due to the atmosphere. He ended up 3rd overall just .02 from being reserve champion.
